well Ok I do know the answer to this (but didn't want to admit it hahaha)
You have to play Polo right handed and it is forbidden to play with the left hand. - deemed to be dangerous I think.
Also whilst am not sure that there is a rule about it and I don't know if it has changed but all hockey sticks used to be right handed so it would be impractical to play it any other way. (as said that may have changed now)

Nice thread liz - thought maybe we should carry it on as a sports trivia question place. As it will make a little change to have something sport related that is not just football. (although that of course can be included)
so:
