Harry Redknapp was delighted with his Portsmouth side after they came away from West Ham with a 4-2 victory.
The win gives Portsmouth a massive boost in their bid to stay in The Premiership and was made all the sweeter given it was Redknapp's first return to Upton Park.
Redknapp has never previously returned to the club who axed him in 2001 and given the ease with which his team claimed a victory, he was understandably elated.
''It was a big game to win, I said we needed back-to-back wins after beating City last week,'' said Redknapp.
''And to pick up the points here was great for us. They were still a strong side despite the changes and we played very, very well.
''They are getting better. (Pedro) Mendes has been great from the start but I think Sean Davis is getting fitter, (Andres) D'Alessandro is a special talent too.
''It was a good all-round performance, you couldn't fault anyone - they all did their jobs out there today.
''I left here with a good team in place. Now I'm back I've had to make some signings to give us a chance. The players here now, well, it's a much better side than that which I took over.
"We're in there sc*apping now and we've closed the gap. We're still in there and we've got a nice easy game next week against the Gunners!"

was postponed m8 but tonight is the night!
A win for Pompey would take them out of the relegation zone for the first time since December - while The Gunners, currently sixth, will close to within two points of Tottenham in fourth with victory.
To achieve the win Portsmouth will have to overturn recent history having not beaten a*senal since 1957 and have not even scored in their three outings against a*sene Wenger's men.
Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp is unlikely to make many changes, given Pompey's great run of form. #woohoo7hc#
Andy O'Brien will be hoping for a recall as he has overcome a hamstring injury and Linvoy Primus is likely to make way.
Benjani must also be sweating over his role, with Svetoslav Todorov - who came on and scored against Blackburn at the weekend - ready to start.
a*senal too will be making changes from their side which lost to Manchester United.
Thierry Henry, rested for the match at Old Trafford, is set to start - as is Sol Campbell, who will play for the first time since February.
Swiss ace Philippe Senderos will be making way for Campbell, while Cesc Fabregas is out with a foot problem.
Reyes and Ljungberg will also be playing - gulp.
