Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp has insisted he is not thinking of European qualification.
Pompey have made an impressive start to the season and are currently fourth in The Premiership, but Redknapp believes they can be proud of their campaign even if they do not quite maintain their early form.
After staving off relegation last term, Redknapp would settle for a year of consolidation and a top-half finish.
"We'd be very happy to continue the form we're in and if we can have a good season, finish higher than we've ever finished before, we'd all be very happy this year," he told Sky Sports News.
"I certainly think a top-ten spot is a real possibility. After that, who knows?"
Redknapp feels the chances of any team breaking into the well-established top four are slim.
"I think you'll find at the end of the season, the top four will be the same top four - Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and a*senal.
"Certainly three of those four will be the top three again, because they are the best teams, the best squads, and that's where they'll finish up again."
Portsmouth travel to Premiership champions Chelsea this Saturday, but Redknapp is confident his side can spring a surprise.
Chelsea have yet to lose at Stamford Bridge in The Premiership under Jose Mourinho and are full of confidence following their UEFA Champions League victory over Barcelona.
To add to Redknapp's worries, Glen Johnson will miss the game under the terms of his loan agreement, while Dejan Stefanovic is rated as extremely doubtful.
Stefanovic picked up a knee problem against West Ham last weekend and admitted: "I'm 50-50 at best to play."
However, Redknapp knows that Chelsea's brilliant home record cannot last forever, and believes his side are in the right shape to cause an upset.
"Somebody has got to beat them there some time - so why not us?" he urged.
"Apart from last season, I've always taken a very decent side to Chelsea and this will be no exception.
"Even last season when we were desperately short of quality we gave Chelsea a test and were well in the game for 70 minutes before losing 2-0.
"Now it is just nice to be going there with 16 points already on the board from eight games and everybody feeling confident."
Redknapp is full of respect for Chelsea's strength in depth and accepts they will provide Pompey with their toughest test yet.
"Chelsea are the best around and after watching them on Wednesday, playing without any width but still coming up with a great win, I just don't know how they will play against us," he remarked.
"There is so much talent there in the squad that they can field any 11 and it will be top class. It is the sort of situation we are aiming for here."
With several daunting fixtures around the corner, Redknapp believes he must rotate his squad to ensure everyone stays on top form.

"I've got lots of options up front and in midfield and I will continue to try to mix them up to the best effect.
"We had a great start to the season with five clean sheets and it was important to come back with a win against West Ham after we had lost a couple, because in the next few weeks we have some tough away games at Manchester United, Liverpool and a*senal as well."
